Looking Back at 2005...
It seems appropriate to write one last post for 2005. It was definitely a roller coaster year for me.
I left my old job, where I had been for a number of years, to try my hand at a different industry, with mixed results, but it was definitely a good move overall.
I vastly improved my technical ability, learned a few new skills, and pushed my design ability much further than I had in the past. I launched Boots on the Ground (which I am extremely proud of) and have a few other projects that will roll out in 2006.
I didn't do too much traveling this year, but have a few things already scheduled for 2006, including Jamaica in February and my sister's wedding in CA in June.
I was also thrust into an unfortunate situation that led me to reexamine some of the friendships I have in my life. It turns out that a few people close to me had been lying and taking advantage for some time. In the end, it was time to cut bait and move on.
I was always a believer that as one gets older, ideally they grow, they learn, they change. But often times, as much as someone seems to have changed on the surface, deep down, they are the same sheisty individual they have always been. A person's direction may occassionally shift, but their moral compass remains fixed.
I'm looking forward to this new year, especially the first few months. I'm involved with a few exciting things right now, and look forward to writing more about them.
Have a happy and safe New Year.
